Adoption Community Support Groups

All MLJ Support Services groups are open to the entire adoption community, not just clients of MLJ. Please make sure that you sign up for each group that you plan to intend, as groups may be cancelled due to low turnout.
The Kid's Adoption Club meetings will be held on the third Thursday of each month for children 6-12yo who joined their famlilies through adoption. It is essential for children to not only meet other children who are experiencing the same things that they might be, but to also be able to talk about their thoughts and questions about adoption away from their parents. These meetings are open to the community; however, we ask that you signup to let us know that you plan to attend, so we can notify all of any changes or cancellations due to weather or low turnout.
Adoptive Parents Support group meetings will be held on the third Thursday of each month for those currently parenting children that have been adopted. During these meetings you can bring your questions and difficult situations to address with a Support Specialist and other supportive parents. These meetings are open to the community; however, we ask that you signup to let us know that you plan to attend, so we can notify all of any changes or cancellations due to weather or low turnout.
While We Wait meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of each month for those in the midst of the adoption process. During these meetings parents can meet other parents in different stages of the adoption process, receive answers to basic questions, and discuss their experiences with the adoption process. These meetings are open to the community; however, we ask that you signup to let us know that you plan to attend, so we can notify all of any changes or cancellations due to weather or low turnout.
