Already in 2015, our families have brought home five children and received four referrals. Adopting from Bulgaria continues to be a popular option for families wishing to add to their families through adoption.  We have written extensively about our Bulgaria program in this blog. In honor of our upcoming May Day and Eastern European Adoption Celebration on May 16th, we are taking a look back through our Bulgaria blog archives.

Choosing a country for international adoption can be difficult but adopting from Bulgaria is a great option for a variety of reasons. Here are the Top Ten Reasons To Adopt From Bulgaria. And because ten just wasn’t enough, we added the Top Three Reasons to Adopt from Bulgaria!

The children from Bulgaria that are in need of loving, permanent homes are often older and usually of Roma heritage. Families interested in adopting older children will find many Opportunities To Adopt Older Children in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria Bucks the International Adoption trend by being a country with strong systems in place to not only facilitate adoption effectively but also to take care of the children while they must remain in institutional care. For example, Orphans In Bulgaria With Congenital Syphilis Receive Effective Treatment. Children who receive the treatment early in their young lives are likely to have their syphilis completely cured with no long lasting effects. Our Bulgarian partner NGO, Vesta, Improves the Lives of Orphans in Eastern Europe through their compassionate care for children being adopted and those who are not able to be matched to a family.

But don’t take our word for it! We are blessed to have many families with children home who have shared their stories with us. They include the Hawley Family, the Crotty Family, the Eplion Family, the Hutchinson Family and the Nichols Family.
