Home Study Assistant
Georgina Leavell works as a Home Study Assistant with MLJ Adoptions’ Indiana families and assists them in completing their home study.
Adoption touched Georgina’s life at a young age when her family adopted her brother through the foster care system. Her life has been enriched by her brother and therefore by adoption. Even though she has seen the difficulties that adopted children can face, her personal and professional experiences have affirmed the value of a forever family in meeting a child’s needs no matter what.
When she’s not working, Georgina enjoys doing genealogy research, reading, crocheting, gardening and
relaxing. Traveling is a huge passion of hers; she’s traveled on cruises and to Paris, London and Rome. Her favorite role is that of a grandmother!
Georgina earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development from Indiana University -Purdue University at Indianapolis and completed her Master’s Degree in Human Development at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California. Throughout her twenty-year career, Georgina has remained committed to child welfare and advocacy in many different capacities. She has worked with children, families and communities to establish goals and empower healthy relationships.
