Katelyn Smith, MSW

Bulgaria Program Manager

Katelyn Smith is MLJ Adoptions’ Bulgaria Program Manager.  She works with families adopting from Bulgaria and assists them in completing their adoptions.  She feels honored to be a part of a family’s adoption story and helping them bring their child home.

Although adoption is not a part of Katelyn’s family personally, she knows the importance of children being raised in families.  She was raised in a loving and supportive home and is still close with her parents and siblings. When she is not working, Katelyn enjoys being creative and painting, and spending time with family and friends.

Katelyn earned her Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies from Ball State University and completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Indiana University-Purdue University.  Katelyn began her career in international adoption with MLJ in January 2018 as an MSW intern.  She assisted staff with adoptions from Bulgaria and Ukraine and knew this was an area that she was interested in for her career.  She quickly learned about the international adoption process and became very passionate in helping children find their forever families.  She recently joined staff in August 2018 and looks forward to her future with MLJ.
