2018 Annual Adoption Picnic!

18
Jul

Each year, MLJ Adoptions hosts an annual picnic! The picnic is open to all MLJ Families – past and present, prospective adoptive families, adoption advocates and friends of adoption. All families, no matter where they are in the adoption process are welcome to join us for an afternoon of fun and food!

This year’s picnic will be held in the same place as last year’s — Forrest Park in Noblesville, Shelter 5. The event will begin at 1PM and go until 3PM.

A huge benefit of attending the picnic is having the opportunity to connect with other families! At some point in your adoption process, you will need a support system – another mom to process your child’s story with, a family who parents similarly to you or a child who shares the same heritage as your child. The adoption picnic makes those initial introductions and helps foster those relationships.

The afternoon will be fun for the entire family. MLJ Adoptions will plan a craft for all kids and there will also be a bounce house for children to plan in. Additionally, there’s a playground right next to the shelter.

MLJ Adoptions will provide the main dish, but please do follow the instructions below:

Families with the last name beginning A-M, please bring a side to share.

Families with the last name beginning N-Z, please bring a dessert to share.

It is our delight to watch families interact with one another, children from different countries play together and our staff enjoys re-connecting with families and putting faces with names. We would love for you to join us for this fun-filled afternoon!

We know it may be overwhelming to meet new people and/or attend alone, but please hear us when we say that all are welcome! We look forward to being able to put faces with names, and the chance to make new memories with your family!

RSVP so we can make sure that we have enough food for all!
