November is National Adoption Awareness month! In celebration of National Adoption Awareness, MLJ Adoptions International is offering a $500 grant to any family who becomes an MLJ client family by the end of November.

National Adoption Awareness month helps us shed light on the need for forever families that are needed for the children in need around the globe.  Worldwide there are an estimated 153 million children considered orphaned and in need of a family.  The humanitarian crisis of orphaned children has many causes but include poverty, war, sickness or death of biological parents and abandonment of biological parents.  It is a basic human right that all children deserve to be raised within a family and provides food, shelter, love and family.  Adoption Awareness Month helps us and all those who work tirelessly to help children in need spread the word on this human tragedy.

All adoptive parents come to adoption for varying reasons, but the end result is the same, a child in need finds a loving family where there was none before.  If you are considering adoption, there are many options that will allow you to place a child in your home and address the need of a family for a child. International adoption from countries such as Burkina Faso in Africa, Peru or Colombia in South America or Bulgaria and Ukraine in Eastern Europe, which all have children in need of a loving home. Domestic adoption and foster care adoption also provide hope of a family to children in need of homes in the U.S. An average of 450,000 children are currently in the U.S. foster care system in need of a permanent home!

Lastly, embryo adoption, through the Snowflakes embryo adoption program addresses the need for families to be matched with embryos that are unused.  Embryo adoption allows a family with remaining embryos to select an adoptive family for their embryos. The adopting family is able to use the donated embryos to achieve a pregnancy and give birth to their adopted child.

Whatever the reason that has brought you to research adoption, there is no better time than now to take that first step.  There are children in need and many options available for adoptive families. Submit your application by the end of November to receive your $500 grant toward your second payment and be on the road to discovering how your decision will not only change the life of a child, but positively change your family as well. Make a difference in the life of a child during National Adoption Awareness month!
