Father's Day Frosty's for Adoption

Have you made plans for Father’s Day yet? If your dad is like mine, he is going to love the idea of getting desert from Wendy’s. My father has a heart for children and says that most of his best friends are under 4 feet tall. He looks forward to his turn to work with the kids during children’s church and has faithfully followed his class from infancy to first grade. Although his children are adults, he keeps a stocked toy closet and a library of Disney Pixar and other such movies (although those are just as much for him). Like anyone who loves children, he has a sweet tooth as well.

For the third year, Wendy’s will be donating 50 cents for every Frosty product purchased during Father’s Day Weekend (June 20th and 21st) to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. In 2007 $1 million was raised, and in 2008 $1.7 million was raised through this program. This year there are some additional ways to donate and support children in foster care waiting for a family to adopt them. Rather than moving from foster care placement to placement these kids crave the stability of a forever family. In addition to your Frosty purchase on Father’s Day weekend, you can create a Father’s Day card on the Frosty Card website, and 25 cents will be donated for each card made. You can also purchase a Frosty Pinup to be hung on the wall at your local Wendy’s for $1/each; 100 percent of Frosty Pinup Sales are donated to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

Wendy’s still offers the Original Frosty in chocolate and vanilla; however, there are now many other options that are included in this fundraiser as well. Frosty Shakes come in Frosty-cino, chocolate fudge, vanilla bean, and strawberry. The Twisted Frosty comes in coffee toffee, Oreo ®, M&M’s ®, and Nestle ® Toll House ® cookie dough (only available in the United States). There is also a Frosty Float version, like you could have gotten at an old fashioned soda fountain.

Show how much you appreciate your dad by doing something to help another child have a father. No matter how else you choose to recognize your dad, don’t forget to include treating him and yourself to a Frosty on Father’s Day weekend. It’s a perfect excuse to try one of the new flavors and support the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
