MLJ is offering a Summer Hosting Program again this year and I have been so excited at the level of interest among loving families interested in opening their homes to children in need. To this point, we only have three openings remaining in the program including two precious girls who would make a welcome addition to your family!

Alona is a kind 13 year old girl that likes sports and plays soccer. For her quiet time she likes to draw and play on the computer. She likes pets, especially dogs and cats. Alona loves to cook – in Ukraine the children get little opportunity to help with the cooking so an American kitchen would be so fun for her. The teachers at the orphanage state that she is one of the best kids from this orphanage. Imagine how wonderful it would be to spend time with Alona this summer!

Valeria is a very shy, sweet 13 year old girl who studies hard and, according to the teachers in the orphanage, she doesn’t have any bad habits. She loves pets and small children and enjoys swimming. Valeria dreams of someday becoming a chef. Just think of how much fun it would be to have Valeria helping in the kitchen this summer!

For the older children, it means so much for someone to want to spend time with them and make them feel special. One of the older girls that came on a prior trip told me this week that when she came to America the first time, she wore the nicest clothes she had ever seen and had so much fun. She ultimately got adopted and thanked me for the opportunity to come.

Children older than five have a much harder time getting placed in permanent families, but a child that has entered their teenage years has even less opportunity. Do you have room in your home to host one of these older girls and potentially be able to offer them the opportunity of a lifetime?
